Yoga Nidra & Stress
you will be introduced to the basics of what Yoga Nidra is, its basics, the difference between Yoga Nidra and a regular meditation practice, and the science behind it. This workshop addresses the effects of stress on the body, an individual’s stressors, and how Yoga Nidra can help cope with stress. Individuals taking this course will analyze their stress and triggers and experience first-hand how a Yoga Nidra practice can help. Participants will be given the tools to help create their own Yoga Nidra practice. To complete the course participants are asked to complete a questionnaire, and a worksheet, watch/review a presentation, participate in a recorded Yoga Nidra practice, and submit their observations of its effects on themselves and their stress. Finally, they will be asked to complete an overall assessment for the workshop and outline a Yoga Nidra practice for themselves. Yoga teachers completing this course will earn 10 CEUs.
Savasana: The Art of Relaxation of the Body & Mind
Savasana is THE MOST important asana (pose) done in a yoga class. For many savasana is the most difficult of poses to do in yoga. For others, it is simply a short nap. In this workshop, you will receive a better understanding of the corpse pose. Discover how the pose teaches us how to rest and surrender on a very deep level. We’ll explore variations and adjustments to this simple yet complex pose using props and blankets. Discover how simply practicing savasana can be the best yoga practice and art that leads to the ultimate relaxation of body & mind! We will explore some breathing (pranayama) as well as meditation techniques which can be helpful when finding the savasana pose and settling into relaxation seems impossible. Achieve a deep sense of calm and the knowledge of the magic of savasana. Be sure to dress comfortably. Upon completion of this course you will receive 2.5 CEUs for the Yoga Alliance
